JOB PURPOSE & SCOPE

The Beauty & Well-Being Category covers a variety of well-known brands such as Dove, Glow & Lovely, Clear, Elidor, Tresemme, Vaseline, Sunsilk, among others.

The Category Procurement team is the face of the business to the Portfolio Procurement teams (buyers) and suppliers and the face of procurement to the full cross functional team, such as Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, etc.

The Category Procurement Assistance Manager is the interface between Procurement Teams, Suppliers, and our internal business partners such as R&D, SC Cat., Finance, Brand and other procurement or supply chain groups. This is to understand their project requirements and provide expert support in the developing and execution of the procurement strategy to introduce, in a timely manner, new raw and pack materials of an innovation project, at a competitive price, ensuring supplier selection is in line with our Procurement Strategies and with sufficient capacity for growth to support innovation agenda and funnel.

Key elements of the role are the support and co-ordination of the Innovation and Value Improvement and Savings Programs, through close co-operation with the Procurement teams, R&D, Brand Development (BD) and Supply Chain, with the 5S and C4G (Connected for Growth) framework.

The Category Procurement assistant manager provides strategic and analytical value creation and insights which includes support for all innovations, cost savings initiatives, and business endeavors that needs procurement support, functioning as the bridge between the business needs and the procurement organization.

The scope of the category procurement provides full accountability of the top and bottom-line growth of the category from a procurement perspective. Leading the procurement activities related to Innovation, cost savings, sustainability, in/out-sourcing, and much more, either translating and influencing business needs into requests to buyers or engaging with the cross functional team to assure procurement topics are highlighted and picked-up in the project teams.

Responsibilities:

Partner with Purpose: Working alongside BU Leads, Brand, R&D and SC teams to transform how the categories partner with suppliers for mutual growth.

Innovation: Act on category needs and translate into projects with selected suppliers. Represent procurement in innovation projects. Deliver the Category design and deploy innovation agenda at Global and Regional level.

Innovation network support for decision making at leadership team level (innovation gatekeeping meetings for example) e.g., pricing of materials, risk statements, lead times, savings potentials and financial impact. Deliver the Category design and deploy innovation agenda.

As part of OTIF project delivery follow-up with Portfolio Procurement and suppliers to secure supplier capacity and capability for strategic growth and ensure contract creation and 1st delivery in a timely manner to meet first production dates.

Brief Portfolio Procurement on upcoming innovations and initiate contracting requests with buyers.

Material Forecasting:

Work closely with Procurement Finance and Portfolio Procurement during the forecasting cycles to understand the full NMI, NMCI cycles and the key materials movement drivers and the impact on the category.

Cost and Cash

Support the business in E2E cost improvements by delivering the Material/PL Savings. Collect new ideas from Procurement and propose them to the business for decision making and resource allocation.

Support and Co-Lead 5S workshops and support regular 5S updates in the Category BG/BU.

Support on delivering the material cost management targets and building the strategic roadmap ot he value improvement workstream, in line with USLP and E-comm Unit strategy.

Constantly monitor Gross Material Cost Impact and ensure business partners are clear on how much our savings program contribute to the GM ambition of the category and how material inflation is developing.

Capacity & Capability: Support the Category Supply Chain team on the long-term category materials capacity plans with suppliers. Ensure we have the right suppliers in the right location in line with the category business growth agenda.
