Why is this role really critical to us?

The Billing Service Integration Solution Designer is a technology professional capable of working at the enterprise level, and is adept at crafting solutions that employ best practices. In addition to deep technical knowledge, also possesses a strong understanding of billing processes and operations as they apply to mediation and usage rating, order orchestration, activation, revenue recognition, invoice generation, taxation, payment processing and management.

How will you spend your time at Vodafone?

As a member of the squad, solution designer is responsible for all the activities that lead the team to achieve their sprint goals & team KPIs.

• Supports ideation and scoping processes for scoring, feasibility and complexity of the concepts.
• Delivers detailed functional and technical analysis against backlog items in line with solution designers in other squads; handshakes on the specifications of the integrations points.
• Prepare design documents for the delivery
• Together with Ops and Infrastructure teams, studies dimensioning for the systems in the domain based on the traffic forecast provided by the business unit
• Works with product owner and solution developer define backlog items (epics, features, user stories, tasks) for the necessary cases
• Estimates size of backlog items
• Translates backlog items into engineering design and logical units of work (tasks) with the solution developers.
• Supports testers for test case preparation; reviews test cases.
• Provides design support for defects and issues raised by relevant stakeholders regarding the domain under the teams responsibility.
• Prepare and present solution for IT Architecture Board
• Executes RFP/RFP & SOW process if required.
• Works with solution architect to maintain product roadmaps and target architecture
• Reviews and approves vendor design documents; follow ups vendor development.
• If assigned as a Lead Solution Designer, drives e2e design activitives, ensures e2e quality of the delivery.

You are just the person we’ve been looking for, if you have:

• 
  Graduated from Computer Engineering or similar discipline
• At least 5+ years of experience working as a solution designer
• At least 4+ years of experience Billing implementations
• Expertise in Data Modelling (Entity-Relationship Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, Data Vault Modelling, etc.)
• Good Technical skills in Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL,
• Java and/or similar modern programming languages
• General experience with Microservice architectures
• APIs, Web Services, SOAP, REST and similar technologies
• Spring and/or similar frameworks
• General experience with Cloud Computing
• Agile software development methodologies,
• CI/CD tools and methodologies,
• Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines
• Strong understanding of software development process
• Strong business orientation with strategic and analytical skills
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Strong Presentation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Knowhow and experience of Telecommunication concepts and services.
• Self motivated: Motivated to do or achieve more because of one's own enthusiasm or interest, without needing pressure from others.
• Initiative: Doing things proactively, stepping up and taking action to improve current situations or address challenges and potential opportunities.
• Solutions Driven: Display sound judgment, considering the pros and cons of different options and situations to make informed and robust decisions.
• Working Together: Working as part of a team and not separately or competitively – together.
